Recipe Variations

  • Corn tortillas – you will need to warm the tortillas on a skillet to prevent them from breaking when you roll them up.
  • Shredded chicken – using rotisserie chicken is quick and delicious.
  • Refried beans – perfect for a vegetarian option.
  • You can also try using different types of cheese such as Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack.
  • Use a taco seasoning packet to season the beef instead of individual spices.
  • If you are making these taquitos as an appetizer for a party they can be cut in half for a more mini size they can be kept warm in a 200-degree oven while you make additional batches.

Hi! I have a couple questions for this recipe.

1. We are instructed to preheat the air fryer to 400, but then to cook the taquitos at 380. Is that intentional?

2. Should the toothpicks stay in the taquitos while in the air fryer?

Thank you!

@Kayla, so sorry for the discrepancies, thank you for pointing them out! Disregard the 380 degrees, cook them at 400. I remove the toothpicks after the first round, when I flip them.
