To make this cranberry cocktail, you will need the following ingredients (see the recipe card below for exact amounts):

  • Orange liqueur
  • Cranberry juice
  • Prosecco: Sparkling wine cocktails are quite forgiving with regards to the quality of sparkling used, thus you do not need expensive, top-shelf bottles.

How to Decorate Your Glass

I like to cut ribbon to make a bow and tie it to the glass stem. Do this before pouring the drinks, to prevent spillage. This ribbon from Michael’s is perfect for Christmas. There is a similar red and white striped ribbon on Amazon. Cut the length you need, and then cut the ends into a v-shape. Then tie a bow!

Can I Make this Ahead of Time?

Pre-mix the cranberry juice and orange liqueur and place in a pitcher in the refrigerator.  When ready to serve, decant a portion of this into chilled glassware and top with sparkling wine to ensure the drink is as sparkling and lively as possible to serve your guests.  Garnish before serving.

Can I Make this Non-Alcoholic?

For a non-alcohol version, omit the orange liqueur and sparkling.  Mix the cranberry juice with a nonalcoholic sparkling apple cider, a kombucha, or flavored sparkling water. Garnish the same to create the same festive feel.

Recipe Tips

Do not use ice to chill this cocktail as it will dilute the beverage, instead emphasize that the  ingredients should be pre-chilled, preferably overnight.
