Christmas Cosmos are a fun holiday twist on the classic cranberry and vodka cocktail. These festive red drinks are garnished with rosemary sprigs, pomegranate arils and cinnamon sticks.

This Christmas cocktail pairs perfectly with holiday party appetizers, to make at an office holiday party, Christmas Adam party, New Years Eve party, and more. Don’t let the Christmas theme fool you, these cocktails can be served year-round.

Christmas Cosmos Ingredients

To make this Christmas cocktail recipe, you will need the following ingredients (scroll down to the recipe card below for exact amounts and directions):

  • Ice
  • Cranberry juice cocktail
  • Vodka: A traditional cosmopolitan is made with a citrus-flavored vodka, but for this recipe, I used Grey Goose vodka.
  • Triple sec
  • Lime juice
  • Grenadine
  • Clear corn syrup
  • Coconut flakes
  • Pomegranate arils: Pomegranate arils (seeds) can be hard to find and are not required to make this cocktail. I usually find them in the refrigerated section of the produce area, near the prepackaged fruit.
  • Lime wedges
  • Cinnamon stick: optional garnish
  • Rosemary sprig: optional garnish

Kitchen Tools Needed

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Martini glasses: Cosmopolitans are traditionally served in a coupe or martini glass, but you can serve these cocktails in whatever type of glass you like.
  • Cutting board
  • Knife

I love these art deco coupe glasses. They are so fun for serving cocktails or desserts!

How to Make Christmas Cosmopolitans

  1. Pour ice into a cocktail shaker or jar. Add cranberry juice, vodka, triple sec, lime juice, and grenadine. Shake well until the cocktail shaker is cold.
  2. Rim the outer edge of 2 martini glasses in corn syrup, then dip in coconut flakes.
  3. Divide the cocktail among the rimmed glasses. Garnish with pomegranate arils, lime wedges, cinnamon sticks, and a rosemary sprig. Enjoy!

Recipe Tips

  • If the coconut flakes and corn syrup are too messy you can rim the glasses with lime juice and sanding sugar.
  • Adding an orange slice for garnish would give these cocktails a Christmas flavor.
