Sheet Pan Tater Tot Nachos

Tater tot nachos are a great appetizer perfect for summer or game day. Also called totchos, this recipe has great taco flavor.

Feed a crowd with this delicious recipe. Forget the mess and easily eat these with a fork. You could also make this in a tater tot casserole.

Tater Tot Nachos Ingredients

To make this nacho recipe, you will need the following ingredients (see the recipe card below for exact amounts):

  • Tater tots
  • Ground beef
  • Taco seasoning
  • Black beans
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Mexican cheese blend
  • Jalapenos
  • Black olives
  • Avocados
  • Cilantro
  • Sour cream: Use the squeeze tube of sour cream or add to an empty squeeze bottle to make for easy drizzling.

How to Make Totchos

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and lightly spray an 11×17 baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Add ground beef to a medium sized skillet over medium heat and cook for 9-11 minutes or until browned. Drain the fat.
  3. Following the directions on the taco seasoning package, add the seasoning and water to the ground beef. Bring to a boil and allow to simmer for the recommended amount of time according to package directions. When done, remove from heat.
  4. Lay tater tots flat on a baking sheet, evenly spread.
  5. Add black beans, tomatoes, and half of the cheese blend overtop of the tater tots.
  6. Top with ground beef, jalapenos, black olives and the remaining cheese.
  7. Place in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted.
  8. When done, garnish with avocado slices, a drizzle of sour cream and freshly chopped cilantro.

Storage Instructions

You can keep any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. Omit toppings like sour cream and avocado if storing and add before serving.
