What is RumChata?
RumChata give itself away with its name – it is comprised of rum and horchata. Horchata is a milky drink made from ground ingredients like almonds or rice. RumChata is a cream liqueur made with rum, cream, natural cinnamon, vanilla, sugar and other flavors. Manufactured in Wisconsin, they know a little about milk and cream, so this is one quality liqueur. I have had horchata beer, and I did not like it at all. So I was pleasantly surprised when I first tried RumChata. Everything is better with cream!

2 C milk chocolate chips
¾ C caramel sauce
2 C heavy whipping cream
6 C milk
8 shots Rumchata
¼ C cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla
Toffee bits, whipped cream and caramel sauce for topping
How to Make Slow Cooker Caramel Hot Chocolate with Rumchata
To make Caramel Hot Chocolate with Rumchata in the slow cooker is very easy. It is as easy as set it and forget it [except for the few times you go stir it up when really you are just taking in the smells].
Add all ingredients except toppings to a slow cooker. Whisk together.
Cook on low for 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until chocolate chips are melted.
Stir well before serving. Use a ladle to pour into mugs. If you want more alcohol, you can add another shot of RumChata to your drink.
Garnish with whipped cream, caramel sauce, and toffee bits.
This recipe can be made without alcohol for a kid friendly version. The alcohol will not completely cook off in the slow cooker because of the lid, but it will be reduced.
