Turkey Cookie Ingredients

To make this fun Thanksgiving dessert recipe, you will need the following ingredients (go to the recipe below for exact quantities and instructions):

  • Double Stuf OREO cookies
  • candy corn
  • googly eyes
  • pumpkin spice morsels: If you can’t find pumpkin spice morsels, Reese’s peanut butter chips work also.
  • black cake/cookie icing: If you can’t find black, I have also used yellow gel icing.

How to Make Thanksgiving Turkey Cookies

  1. Take 4-5 pieces of candy corn and carefully push into the icing in between the cookie parts. Don’t push too far or the cookie will separate. Use the thinnest candy corns you can find in the bag.
  2. Using the black cake or cookie icing as “glue,” squeeze a tiny amount where you want to place the eyes and beak. Apply the googly eyes to the icing.
  3. Apply the pumpkin spice morsel under the eyes as the beak.
  4. Let the cookies set for a few minutes until the icing hardens a bit.

Tips for Oreo Turkey Cookies

I highly recommend using Double Stuf Oreos. They are easier to get the candy corn in without separating the cookie.

Will you share the exact size of your candy eyes? There are a handful of options online to order, and I thought the in-person option at the store was too large. Thank you!

@MML, I'm sorry, it has been a few years since I bought these, but I'm pretty sure I just bought the ones in the baking aisle. You should be safe with the Wilton Candy Eyeballs. Don't buy any marked "jumbo."
