Dump and Bake Meatball Casserole is a quick and easy dinner recipe that the whole family will love! Shredded mozzarella and ricotta cheese make for a creamy, delicious dish that is perfect for any meal.
Packaged meatballs and uncooked noodles bake with the rest of the ingredients in one dish. Cleanup has never been easier!
Meatball Casserole Ingredients
To make this pasta dinner, you will need the following ingredients (see the recipe card below for exact amounts):
- Rotini pasta
- Marinara sauce
- Water: you can substitute vegetable broth
- Frozen cocktail meatballs
- Ricotta cheese
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil
How to Make Dump and Bake Meatball Casserole
- Preheat oven to 425F and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
- Add the uncooked pasta to the bottom of your pan.
- Pour the sauce and water over the noodles and gently stir to mix.
- Add the thawed meatballs on top of the pasta.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and cook in the oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked through and tender. Stir the mixture.
- Dollop the ricotta cheese across the top of the dish and spread the shredded mozzarella evenly on top.
- Bake uncovered for another 5-10 minutes, until the cheese is melted through.
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve immediately, enjoy!
Storage Instructions
Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. Leftovers can also be frozen in a ziploc bag for up to 2-3 months.
Serving Suggestions
This hearty dish is best served with a light salad, such as this zesty Italian salad. I also like to put a bowl of Parmesan cheese on table.
