Fast casual restaurants are my go to for lunch lately because you get the atmosphere and quality without the wait. I was invited to check out the new Slapfish location in Albuquerque. Slapfish is a seafood restaurant that serves up quality and unique seafood dishes, including sandwiches or bowls with the fish of your choice. Chef Andrew Gruel has also taken classics and local favorite and put his own seafood twist on them.
Slapfish Location
Slapfish Albuquerque is located at 6400 Holly Avenue NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113. It is near Blaze Pizza and Panda Express. The grand opening is Saturday, October 7, 2017. The first 100 people get a FREE lobster roll! Go check it out!
The Menu at Slapfish
The menu is on a one-sided board, which is pretty unique and cool. They have signature dishes and must haves which are available every day. The daily fish change and are listed on the wall as you walk in. They tell you where the fish was sourced from and other information you might want to know about the fish.
The Food
I am only a recent seafood eater. My experience with seafood as a child was limited to frozen fish sticks and tartar sauce. I never liked the taste of fish. Now I can appreciate good seafood that is cooked right. [And sushi of course, duh.] The food at Slapfish is AMAZING. I tried the Tilapia sandwich, Clobster Grilled Cheese, Lobster Taquitos [ten stars! try these now!], Chowder Fries [also amazing and unexpected], and the Cucumber Salad [refreshing but I would pass on it].

Because of the freshness of the fish, the fish of the day changes often, and you can also expect this to be a little pricier than most fast casual restaurants.
