Crock Pot Garlic Parmesan Chicken Pasta is a dump-and-go slow cooker dinner that your whole family will love. With spicy store-bought garlic parmesan sauce, velvety cream cheese, and lots of tender chicken, this pasta is as flavorful as it is simple.
Crock Pot Garlic Parmesan Chicken Pasta Ingredients
To make this slow cooker chicken dinner, you will need the following ingredients (scroll down to the recipe card below for exact amounts and directions):
- Chicken breasts
- Sun-dried tomatoes
- Chicken stock
- Buffalo Wild Wings parmesan garlic sauce: This sauce is spicier than the name would suggest, and as a result this pasta is pretty spicy. My family loves it, but it might be a little too spicy for you. Taste the sauce before adding it to the crockpot to see if you like the spice level. For milder chicken, I recommend using half the bottle of garlic parmesan sauce and doubling the cream cheese.
- Cream cheese
- Penne pasta: This recipe is great with any type of pasta. I personally like penne, cavatappi, or rotini to hold on to all that yummy sauce!
- Salt and pepper
- Parmesan cheese: freshly grated is best as it melts better.
How to Make Chicken Pasta in the Slow Cooker
- Add the chicken breast to the crock pot in a single layer, not overlapping.
- Pour chicken stock in the bottom of the crock pot. Top the chicken breasts with the julienned sun-dried tomatoes.
- Pour the parmesan garlic sauce on top of the chicken, and layer the cream cheese on top of the sauce.
- Put the lid on the crock pot and cook the chicken on high for about 2 to 2 ½ hours, until fully cooked through. The chicken is done when it reaches a safe internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
- Using two forks, shred the chicken and stir well to bring the sauce and chicken together. Turn the crock pot down to warm, and let the shredded chicken and sauce meld for a few minutes while you make the pasta.
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions, and drain. Add the cooked pasta to the crock pot with the chicken, and stir well to coat the pasta in sauce.
- Taste the pasta and season with additional salt and pepper, to taste. Top each serving with 1-2 tablespoons freshly shredded Parmesan cheese, and enjoy!
Recipe Tips
- Every crockpot cooks differently, and yours may take a little more or less time for the chicken to be fully cooked. The safest way to check the chicken is fully cooked is with a meat thermometer. Mine was fully cooked and fall-apart tender at 2 hours.
- I have not tested this recipe at low heat, but chicken breasts should fully cook at low heat in 3-4 hours.
