Green Beans Almondine is a traditional holiday side dish recipe perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. Green beans are sautéd with toasted almonds to impart that toasty, subtly nutty flavor.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 5 minutes or until al dente. Drain when finished.
While the water is boiling, toast the almonds in a dry frying pan for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and fragrant. Remove the almonds from the pan and set aside.
Melt butter in a frying pan. Add green beans and toss with the melted butter.
Add most of the almonds, reserving some for garnish. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Toss the mixture together and squeeze with lemon wedge. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Plate the green beans and top with additional almonds. Serve.
