Apple Dump Cake is a delicious warm dessert that is as easy as stir, dump and bake. Apples are cooked to perfection with butter, sugar and spices, and then topped with cake mix and caramel sauce.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add water, 2 tablespoons butter, sugar, and spices. Bring to a small boil. Add apples. Stir until a small boil again, about 4 minutes. Add cornstarch to thicken, stirring occasionally for 1 minute. Remove from heat.
Pour apple pie mixture into the bottom of a prepared 9 x 13 baking dish. Top with the caramel sauce, and then cover with the cake mix. Cover with melted butter.
Bake for 40 minutes, or until the top has started to slightly brown.
