12ozblack candy melts
4jumbo square white marshmallows
16green mini marshmallowsfound in the fruity mix marshmallows
8small candy eyeballs
Instructions
Cut the square marshmallow with scissors to about the same size as the Oreo. Put your cake pop stick into the bottom in preparation to dip in the green chocolate.
Next, add about 1 cup of green candy melts in a microwavable cup or container. Place the melts in the microwave on defrost for 1 minute. Then, heat the melts in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until the candy is melted.
Dip the square marshmallow in the green melts, allowing any excess chocolate to drip off, and place it on parchment paper. Add 2 eyeballs and let the chocolate harden.
Remove the stick from the marshmallow head or you can use a new one. Separate the top and bottom of an Oreo. Place a candy stick vertically in the center of the open-faced Oreo and press down to create a groove. Leave room for the marshmallow head to be put back on later.
Place some of the melted chocolate in the groove and around the stick. You can spin the stick in place to get the chocolate on all sides. This is going to help “glue” the stick to the Oreo.
Replace the top half of the body Oreo and let the chocolate in the middle harden around the stick. This usually takes 2-3 minutes depending on the temperature of your kitchen.
Now, using the same method as above, melt about 1 cup of the black melts and dip the body into the chocolate. You can dip the whole thing at once or dip the front and then the back and place it on parchment.
Put the green head onto the stick above the body.
Next, dip the green marshmallows halfway into the chocolate and place them on the body. Make sure you put enough chocolate on to look like sleeves and pants. You may need to hold the leg marshmallows in place until they hold firm (about 10-20 seconds).
Using a plastic bag or piping bag, fill the bottom corner with some of the melted black chocolate. You may need to reheat the chocolate at this point for another 30 seconds before putting it in the bag. Once in the bag, it tends to harden more quickly than in the container.
[If using a plastic baggie, twist the top end of the bag like a piping bag. Cut the tip of the bag at the corner (the cut is very small).]
Pipe on the hair, a smile and a scar. For the hair, start with lines on the forehead and then fill in from there. For the smile and the scar, you can practice on the parchment beforehand.
Let the chocolate set. You may place them in the refrigerator to set more quickly.
