Using fresh strawberries and fresh squeezed limes instead of a mix make this margarita the best strawberry margarita ever!

The key to making a great margarita is having a great tequila. You want to use a tequila that is a 100% agave tequila. It should say that right on the label.

I enjoy margaritas the most in summer time when the weather is hot, but you can enjoy them anytime! The best strawberry margarita needs to be enjoyed year-round.

Strawberry Margarita Ingredients

To make this strawberry margarita drink, you will need the following ingredients (scroll down to the recipe below for precise amounts):

  • Ice: the ice will be blended, so any shape is fine.
  • Strawberry syrup
  • Lime juice: fresh or bottled
  • Tequila: I prefer a silver tequila for margaritas (blanco/white tequila)
  • Strawberries: You can use fresh or frozen strawberries.
  • Mint leaves
  • Salt

How to Make a Margarita

  1. Add all ingredients (except garnish and salt) to a blender. [I use a blender like this one.] Pulse until smooth.
  2. Take 2 small plates and pour a small amount of water on one, and margarita salt on the other.
  3. Dip the glass rim in the water and then into the salt.
  4. Pour the margarita mixture into the margarita glass. [You can get really nice margarita glasses here.]
  5. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.

I hope you will agree with me that this is the best strawberry margarita you have had! Let me know if you try it!

Frozen Margarita vs. On the Rocks Margarita

So what is the difference between a frozen margarita and a margarita on the rocks? Well, the way they are made makes one colder than the other. That’s about it! On the rocks means poured over ice cubes.

Of course, a frozen margarita is slushier than an on the rocks margarita. Margaritas can be shaken with ice and poured in a glass over ice instead of blended with ice.

This is a frozen margarita recipe, but you can easily make it on the rocks by leaving out the ice when you blend the ingredients.
